Turkey's president forced to intervene after referee is held captive by team angry with penalty decision

Not over-reacting then.

THERE ARE MANY ways to react to what you feel is a poor refereeing performance.

You could slate the officials in the post-match TV interview.

You could make sarcastic comments to the press about how good the performance was.

Or, you could lock the referee into the dressing room until the president of the country orders you to release him.

According to the BBC, Cagatay Sahan and his assistants were held captive under orders from Trabzonspor club president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu after failing to award his side a late penalty in a 2-2 draw with Gaziantepspor.

And Haciosmanoglu claims he only allowed the officials to leave after a call from the country’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

To make matters worse for the referee, an angry crowd had gathered outside the stadium waiting for him to leave.

The Turkish FA has launched an investigation into the matter.

Not really. A year or two ago this would be a massive blow but he has missed alot of this season and whenever he has played he has looked a shadow of his former self. The Rebels have actually played much better without him!

Jessie Mogg at the Brumbies and Israel Folau of the Waratahs have really stood up and are right in contention for the fullback spot. With them in such red hot form (Izzy especially) i doubt even a fit and available Beale would make the squad let alone the starting 15.
