REPUBLIC OF IRELAND star Robbie Brady has been the subject of bids in the region of £10 million from both Burnley and Leicester City, according to the Daily Mail. Norwich City are holding out for £13m for the Dubliner, having already rejected an offer from Crystal Palace.

Another Irish player in the Championship who is attracting substantial interest is Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane. Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly tabled a £1m bid for the Corkman, whose contract expires this summer, but Aston Villa are also preparing an offer.

Sky in Italy are reporting that Crystal Palace are close to signing former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra from Juventus.

Sevilla could end their interest in Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho after the Spanish club’s manager admitted a move for the defender would be “complicated”, the Mirror reports.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes says he’s “hopeful” of signing West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino before the transfer window closes.

The Daily Star reports that Manchester City, Everton and AC Milan are all monitoring Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who’s currently on loan at Bournemouth.

Retro Deal of the Day: Tomas Brolin to Leeds United (1995)

Struggling to secure regular game-time in a Parma side that included Hristo Stoichkov, Faustino Asprilla, Gianfranco Zola and Filippo Inzaghi, Swedish legend Tomas Brolin joined Leeds United for a reported fee of £4.5 million.

However, Brolin is widely regarded as a Premier League flop after failing to reproduce the kind of form that saw him play a key role for Sweden as they finished third at the World Cup the previous year.

Brolin made just 17 appearances in two years for Leeds and ended up going out on loan at FC Zurich and back to Parma. He moved to Crystal Palace in 1998 but retired later that year.
