Ramos 'only wants Manchester United' and all of today's best transfer news

Three clubs have made bids for Paul Pogba, while Seamus Coleman’s proposed move to Manchester United has received a boost.

Deja vu: There is the ominous feeling that Manchester United’s summer is playing out much like the previous two as regards to their transfer activity. Identify a player that a club won’t allow leave, continuously bid for him, and ultimately end up with a cheaper, worse alternative. This summer it isn’t Cesc Fabregas or Arturo Vidal, it’s Sergio Ramos. Sky Sports report that United have made a €40 million bid and say that the Spanish centre-back only has eyes for the Red Devils.

Back-up: Everton are reportedly trying to sign Leeds United right-back Sam Byram this summer. The 21-year-old academy graduate would cost about €12 million according to the Daily Mail. It would pave the way for Seamus Coleman’s proposed move to Manchester United, although Roberto Martinez is still understood to be keen on keeping the Irish man.

Rebuffed: With Morgan Schneiderlin seemingly on his way to Manchester United it is clear that Southampton will look to sign a replacement. One man who won’t be playing for the Saints next season however, is Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula, who L’Equipe say is going to become Porto’s record signing in a €25 million deal. Southampton were hopeful of securing a deal for the highly-rated youngster.

Learning his trade: The Daily Mail suggest that Chelsea starlet Ruben Loftus-Cheek is being targeted by both Monaco and Vitesse Arnhem as both clubs look to get the 19-year-old on a season-long loan. The midfielder is keen to stay at Stamford Bridge and break into the first team however.

Replacement: Petr Cech’s transfer across London to Arsenal may spark somewhat of a goalkeeping transfer merry-go-round it seems. Asmir Begovic is being mooted as his replacement by Sky Sports, with the Bosnian set to cost €8.5 million should Stoke decide to let their man go.

Wanted: Arda Turan will definitely leave Atlético Madrid this summer after his agent confirmed that he was on the lookout for a new club. Manchester United and PSG have been the most strongly linked, with the Turkish international’s agent meeting with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi last week. United are prepared to spend around €40 million to get the winger.

PogWash: The queue of suitors are lining up to whisk Paul Pogba away from Juventus and he looks set to either play in Spain or England, with Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona all making offers. Barcelona have apparently offered €80 million plus €10 million in add-ons to sign him next summer (because of their transfer embargo), Chelsea have offered €50 million plus Oscar, while Manchester City have offered €100 million straight out. Plenty to consider for the Turin side.

Ad bait: The Daily Mirror report that Tottenham will try to sweet talk Aston Villa into selling them Christian Benteke by offering Emmanuel Adebayor as part of the deal. They don’t mention what sort of fee would be involved, but to lose your best player and be stuck with Adebayor, the fee can’t be too far south of his €45 million release clause.

Murray’s mint: Glenn Murray enjoyed quite the renaissance under Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace, scoring seven times as he finished the season on a high. That has alerted both Norwich and Bournemouth, with the promoted sides looking for the 31-year-old to spearhead their attack. The Daily Mirror reckon he’ll cost €7 million.
