Seamus Coleman's move to United is blocked and today's other transfer news

Arsenal and Chelsea are also keen on a prolific French striker while United are prepared to lose David De Gea for nothing.

HERE’S YOUR DAILY dose of transfer gossip as the madness of the summer transfer window begins and who better to guide us through the latest wheelin’ and dealin’s than ‘Arry himself.

Just don’t use the words wheelin’ or dealin’, alright?

No-go: Last night the rumour mill was on overdrive here in Ireland as it looked as if Seamus Coleman could be heading for Manchester United with the Red Devils expected to make a €20 million bid. The Liverpool Echo have thrown cold water on that particular fire however, saying that Everton will not allow the Donegal native to leave.

Heading south: Fabio Borini is pretty unwanted around Anfield it seems. The Italian striker has tried his best to edge his way into the Liverpool first team but it seems that will never come to pass. He is now on his way to West Ham United in a €12 million deal according to the Daily Mirror. Having made little impact at the club since his €13 million arrival in 2012, they’ll be glad to recoup most of their original outlay.

Shunned: Liverpool were the most strongly linked, so it would seem that they will be the most upset by Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca choosing to move to AC Milan. The Colombian striker had been linked with a move to the Kop, but he announced that his agent has secured a deal to bring him to the sleeping Serie A giants.

Beatles break-up: It’s two years since Spurs ‘sold Elvis and bought the Beatles’. It’s fair to say that the Spurs version of the Beatles haven’t had unrivalled success in England. After reports last week that Paulinho and Roberto Soldado were on their way out of White Hart Lane, the Daily Mirror now reports that Erik Lamela is on his way back to Serie A, the most likely destination is Juventus.

Seventh signing: John Henry and FSG have really backed Brendan Rodgers in the transfer market so far this summer, and they’re showing no signs of stopping. Asier Illaramendi has been linked with Liverpool for a while now, and the Daily Star report that the Merseysiders are negotiating with Real Madrid over a €15 million deal for the midfielder.

Price tag: Alexander Lacazette is one of the most talked about strikers in Europe this summer in terms of a transfer following his 27 goals in 31 appearances for Lyon last season. The Daily Star reports that Lyon are willing to sell the striker if someone comes in with a bid of €30 million according to the Sun, and Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in the French forward.

Standing firm: It’s pretty obvious at this stage that David De Gea is going to move to Real Madrid, it’s just a question of when, and for how much. The Daily Mirror are leading with the line that United would rather lose the Spaniard for nothing next summer than to sell him for €28 million this summer as they stand firm on their €50 million valuation of the player.

Helping hand: The Daily Express claim that Rafa Benitez has given Manchester United a boost by pulling out of the race to sign €25 million-rated Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia. Real Madrid were rumoured to be interested but they have now stepped out of the running for the Argentine. It seems unlikely that United would want to sign the 29-year-old if they announce a deal for Morgan Schneiderlin.

Two-way battle: With Real Madrid slapping an extortionate fee of around €90 million on the head of Sergio Ramos, tensions between Manchester United and the Spanish giants are said to be at boiling point. Manchester City are keen to exploit that, according to the Daily Mirror and they will look to sign the Spanish centre-back.
