HERE ARE THE good, the bad, and the unlikely football moves being talked about today…
On Wednesday night the transfer window slams shut for another five months, the same night Robbie Keane puts on his Ireland shirt for the last time as a player. I wonder how many Irish players will be checking their phones at half-time?
Speaking of goodbyes, Joe Hart may have played his last game for Manchester City and has been linked with a move to Everton, but today it is the turn of their Merseyside rivals Liverpool to stake a claim for England’s first-choice goalkeeper.
But Alan Pardew may use the funds from the Zaha deal to bring Moussa Sissoko to Selhurst Park, a player he knows well from his time in charge of Newcastle.
A man with a similar name to the Palace winger, with an altogether different penalty technique, Simone Zaza, could be about to join West Ham from Juventus. The 25-year-old is expected to cost £24 million.

After winning gold with Brazil at the Rio Olympics, Marquinhos could be heading to Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford – after what we read this week, Premier League footballers could learn a thing or two from the Olympians…
Hull City have realised signing a couple of players may bolster their hopes of survival and the capture of Jay Rodriguezon loan from Southampton would be a pretty good start. West Brom are also thought to be keen on the 27-year-old.
Finally, Joleon Lescott could be heading to Greece with Olympiakos and AEK Athens reportedly interested. Haven’t the Greeks suffered enough in the last couple of years?

The formidable Dutch centre-back left Manchester United for Lazio in controversial circumstances 15 years ago, following the publication of his autobiography.
In his book, Stam claimed Alex Ferguson breached Fifa guidelines by approaching him while at he was still at PSV. The now Reading manager also had stinging words for his teammates, and said that both Gary and Phil Neville were a pair of “whingers.”
On top of that, the former Milan player suggested that Ferguson encouraged his players to dive to win penalties, especially in European matches.
After leaving Old Trafford, where he won three consecutive Premier League titles, Stam said:
“I had a conversation with Roy Keane about it and he agreed, saying `They sold you like a cow’.
“The fact is he sold me behind my back. I didn’t know anything about it. Ferguson fired me because he had problems about his own reputation.
“He shouted at me`What must the people think when they read your book and they read I told players they had to dive and that I flatten tables in the dressing room?’
“I didn’t understand his argument at all because I only told the truth.
“And remember Ferguson had his own book and wrote similar stories about Gordon Strachan and Brian Kidd.”
United replaced Stam with Laurent Blanc, with the Red Devils finishing the season in third place in the Premier League, without a trophy. Ferguson later admitted that selling Stam in his prime was one of the biggest mistakes in his managerial career.

Eliaquim Mangala is another player that has fallen down the pecking order at City under Pep Guardiola, but Mauricio Pochettino could be about to offer him a lifeline at White Hart Lane.
The Spurs manager is also trying to lure Wilfried Zaha across London, but their reported early offer of £12 million has been turned down by Crystal Palace. It’s not like Daniel Levy to play hardball, is it?
