City paying big for Sterling: Manchester City and Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee of €68m (£49m) for England international Raheem Sterling after the Reds rejected two bids earlier this summer.

Schneiderlin off to Man United: Having already agreed a deal with Bayern Munich for Bastian Schweinsteiger, Manchester United are wrapping up the transfer of French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton.

Saints bag Dutchman: That move will see Southampton boss Ronald Koeman sign compatriot Jordy Clasie. The Feyenoord captain has been left out of their squad for the upcoming friendly matches due to the talks.

Chicharito off to the US: Orlando City are believed to be in discussions with  Man United to bring Mexican striker Javier Hernandez to the MLS. There have also been reports that Liverpool could make a shock move for the 27-year-old.

Hammers close in on Destro: Mattia Destro’s agent has reportedly flown to London to finalise his transfer from Roma to West Ham.

Sanogo going on loan: Ajax will take Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo on a year-long loan.

Reds to swap one Mario for another? Liverpool and Fiorentina are considering a swap deal which would see German international Mario Gomez join the Reds and misfit Mario Balotelli return to Italy.

Pedro to Chelsea blocked: Chelsea want to buy Spanish internaitonal Pedro for €30m (£22m) but it will have to wait until after Barcelona’s presidential election on 18 July.

Sad to see Kilkenny miss the season but If ever there was an example of the strength and depth of this Dublin panel it’s this article. So many players both young and old able to step in and fill his spot. It’s a great time to be a Dublin gaa fan.

I think Rock is the man for the job. Always thought he was the better footballer over Kilkenny anyway. McMannamon is best suited to the “impact sub” role

I think McManamon’s performance against Kildare shows he’s a lot more than just an impact sub.

McManamon was outstanding in that game.
Only saw it on TV, but did he look like he was carrying weight?
