Corn Uí Mhuirí rivals finally separated as Tralee CBS set up all-Kerry final

The Green will meet St Brendan’s Killarney in next Saturday’s final.

Tralee CBS 1-10

Coláiste Chríost Rí 0-11

TRALEE CBS FINALLY shook off a dogged Coláiste Chríost Rí at the third time of asking to set up an all-Kerry Corn Uí Mhuirí final.

With the sides inseparable in their first two encounters, all eyes were on Ballyvourney to see if this afternoon’s second semi-final replay could produce a winner to face St Brendan’s Killarney.

Tom Hoare’s fifth-minute goal proved to be decisive for The Green, giving them an early lead which they never relinquished.

Tralee had chances to stretch their lead but two points from Cillian Myers Murray kept the Cork school in touch and they trailed 1-4 to 0-3 at the break.

Chríost Rí burst from the traps after the restart with three unanswered points to cut the deficit to the minimum, but Tralee responded in emphatic fashion with three of their own to restore their lead.

Chríost Rí kicked the final two points of the game but it wasn’t enough as Tralee took their place against The Sem in next Saturday’s decider.
