Tottenham star Eriksen talked up for Barcelona move

The Denmark international has been linked with a transfer to Camp Nou after catching the eye in the Premier League.

TOTTENHAM PLAYMAKER CHRISTIAN Eriksen has “all that a Barcelona player must have”, according to Frank de Boer.

The Denmark international has emerged as a possible transfer target for the La Liga giants on the back of his exploits in the Premier League.

The Spurs star has shown himself to be a leading creative influence in the English top-flight, with few able to match the numbers he has posted in terms of chances creates and assists.

It is those qualities which have brought him to Barca’s attention, with De Boer of the opinion that the 25-year-old would not look out of place at Camp Nou.

He told Ekstra Bladet: “I think he can have a wonderful career.

“First Ajax, then Tottenham and then the highest level.

“I think he’s ready for a step higher. He has all that a Barcelona player must have. He has an overview, he has a working ethic, and he kicks well with both legs.”

De Boer, who graced the books at Barca during his playing days, worked with Eriksen during his time with the Ajax academy set-up.

He broke into the senior fold with the Eredivisie club after being nurtured by an iconic figure in Amsterdam and caught the eye of teams across Europe before joining Spurs in 2013.

His displays this season have helped to keep Tottenham in the hunt for the Premier League title, with seven goals and 12 assists offered to the White Hart Lane cause.
