Tommy O'Donnell only absentee from 34-strong Ireland training

Jared Payne is fit and available to face Italy this weekend.

A SHOULDER COMPLAINT for Munster flanker Tommy O’Donnell is the only fresh injury worry for Joe Schmidt’s Ireland squad as they head into the final two fixtures of the Six Nations.

Jared Payne, who came through a full fitness session last week, was among 34 men in full training at Carton House today and is available to start against Italy this Saturday.

“Tommy O’Donnell will be managed by the medics after receiving a stinger playing for Munster at the weekend,” team manager Mick Kearney said this afternoon, adding: ”I think there’s a good possibility that he’ll train tomorrow.”

Munster flanker Jack O’Donoghue was added to the ranks today, joining Connacht prop Finlay Bealham as uncapped members of the group.
