TOMÁS O’LEARY COULD be set for a European showdown with Leinster this weekend after joining Montpellier’s Champions Cup challenge.

The Munster scrum-half has joined the Top 14 outfit on a short-term deal as a “medical joker,” tournament organisers EPCR confirmed this morning.

O’Leary, who was not  named as part of Munster’s European squad, comes in to replace Benoit Paillaugue who is set to miss the next four months with a leg injury.

Montpellier lost their opening Pool 4 match 16-14 against the Northampton Saints last weekend, and will look to bounce back when they host Leinster on Sunday afternoon in the Altrad Stadium (kick-off 1pm Irish).
