KERRY LEGEND TOMÁS Ó Sé made a winning start to his Cork club football championship career today.
36 year-old Ó Sé made his championship debut for Nemo Rangers and lined out at centre-back as they won their Cork senior football opener against Ilen Rovers by 1-18 to 0-10 this afternoon. A back injury had curtailed his early season involvement with Nemo Rangers but he had been involved in recent club league games.

The five-time Kerry All-Ireland senior winner transferred from his native An Ghaeltacht last winter to the Cork outfit. Ó Sé lives outside Cork city and is a school teacher in Fermoy.
Ó Sé’s new club trailed against their West Cork opponents at half-time of today’s first round clash in Dunmanway. Ilen Rovers were in front by 0-10 to 0-7 at the break but Nemo Rangers turned on the style afterwards.

Cork seniors Barry O’Driscoll and Paul Kerrigan spearheaded their scoring charge with Luke Connolly, a Sigerson Cup winner with UCC last year, also showing up well.
The transfer of Ó Sé was a major boost to club based in the south-side of the city. Nemo were beaten in last year’s SFC semi-final to Ballincollig and haven’t won a county title since 2010, but are still the most successful senior football side in Cork, with 18 titles.
