GOAL FOR TIPP! Tipp 1-0 Waterford 0-2 Pauric Mahoney points the free but Tipp respond immediately and Bonner Maher fires past Stephen O’Keeffe for the game’s opening goal.
Tipperary 1-0 Waterford 0-3: Mahony points his third placed ball of the day. All square after seven minutes.
GOAL FOR TIPP! Tipperary 2-2 Waterford 0-3 Pure class by Tipp and they might have this one wrapped up soon enough. Jason Forde does brilliantly to control the ball, and he plays it to Brendan Maher, who delivers it to Bubbles O’Dwyer for the finish.
Tipperary 2-4 Waterford 0-3: Callanan points from play, and then from a free. Tipp lead by seven early on.
Tipperary 2-4 Waterford 0-4: Colin Dunford races away from James Woodlock but his handpass is a bit loose. Barry Kelly gives Waterford a free in following a bit of a scramble and Mahony points.
Tipperary 2-4 Waterford 0-5: Well-taken score by Maurice Shanahan, his first of the day and Waterford’s first from play, but he follows it up with a disappointing wide.
Marvellous solo run by Austin Gleeson as he weaves his way through the Tipp defence. He tries to catch Darren Gleeson off guard by going for goal but the Tipp keeper gathers at the second attempt.
Tipperary 2-6 Waterford 0-5: Bubbles does brilliantly to secure possession and he lays it off to James Woodlock in midfield for a simple finish.
Tipperary 2-6 Waterford 0-6: This hasn’t quite had the intensity of the first semi and, to be honest, I’m not sure if I could have kept it up at that pace. Mahony points a free.
Tipperary 2-6 Waterford 0-7: And now Colin Dunford gets in on the act, cutting Tipp’s lead to five.
Tipperary 2-6 Waterford 0-8: Another Mahony free. That’s three unanswered now for Waterford and their best spell yet.
Both of Tipp’s corner-backs are in Barry Kelly’s book now — Paddy Stapleton was shown a yellow card a few moments ago and now Paul Curran picks one up.
Tipperary 2-6 Waterford 0-9: Pauric Mahony points another free. Three-point game, despite the fact that Waterford weren’t really in it for most of this first half.
Tipperary 2-8 Waterford 0-10: Two scores in quick succession for Tipp before Pauric Mahony hits his first from play.
Colin Dunford is flat on his back after clattering into Conor O’Mahony. O’Mahony is booked — that’s a full house for the Tipp full-back line.
Tipperary 2-8 Waterford 0-11
Mahony converts the free and there’s three between them at the break.
Tipperary 2-8 Waterford 0-12: Mahony points a free for the opening score of the half.
Tipperary 2-9 Waterford 0-13: Callanan knocks over an easy free but Jake Dillon responds for Waterford with his first of the afternoon.
Tipperary 2-10 Waterford 0-13: Woodlock comes away with the ball after a Waterford attack breaks down, and he lays it off to Callanan to point.
Tipperary 2-10 Waterford 0-15: Jamie Barron and Maurice Shanahan make this a one-pointer. HUGE roar from the Waterford crowd.
Tipperary 2-11 Waterford 0-16: Maurice Shanahan fires over another big, BIG point!
GOAL FOR WATERFORD! Waterford 1-16 Tipp 2-11: Colin Dunford has Waterford in front. Remarkable.
Waterford 1-17 Tipperary 2-11: Waterford lead by three as Pauric Mahony points another free. What have Tipp got?
Waterford 1-18 Tipperary 2-11: Maurice Shanahan is fouled and Mahony points the free.
Just before that, Stephen O’Keeffe made a great save to deny Niall O’Meara.
Callanan has a sight on goal but he drops it short into O’Keeffe’s hands. Waterford are scrapping for everything and Tipp are being forced into potshots.
Tipperary 2-12 Waterford 1-18: Conor Kenny points to bring Tipp back within three. They needed that — but they’re hitting far too many wides to really trouble Waterford.
Austin Gleeson tries a monster but it drops into the side netting. It’s very tense here in Nowlan Park.
Waterford 1-18 Tipperary 2-14: Callanan has a free from the half-way line… and he makes no mistake! One in it.
Again, a reminder: if this finishes in a draw, we will have extra-time.
Michael Breen is responsible for the latest Tipp wide — that’s seven in this second half alone!
Tipperary 2-15 Waterford 1-18: ALL SQUARE! Padraic Maher
Gearoid Ryan fouls Kevin Moran. We’re into the last minute and Mahony has a free…
Waterford 1-19 Tipperary 2-15
Whoever gets to play Mayo in the final is going to have 31 counties against them.
It’s how we like it. Áth Cliath abúuuuu.
Not afraid at all , we were tested by Tyrone an came out on top .. Everyone in the country knows mayo are a different team this year .. Bring it on Dublin or Kerry cause Sam will b in the west this year !
Cool vid.. I hope mayo finally get over the line this year. As a limerick man we feel yere pain
Different ! I like… :-)
Leslie Alan rock , silly cocky dub comment best let your football do the talking Sunday … As a mayo man I hope Kerry beat ye !!
Nothing cocky. Just humourous. Why would ye want kerry to beat us? Afraid are we?. If its Mayo v dublin in the final and you start like ye did against tyrone, its good night Irene
Looking forward to the Dublin/Kerry game, it’ll be like a final.
Poor Mayo, I think they actually believe the hype.
Bless ‘em.
Why are people so begrudging towards Mayo? Seriously?! Its not like they haven’t waited long enough to win without listening to the typical “choke” comments every 5 mins. They are in a different league this year, anyone can see that they have just as good a chance of winning the all ireland as Dublin/Kerry, if not better. Maigh-Eo abu!
Its fear……
Whos begrudging ? Every man and his dog wants Mayo to win and im from Kerry.
Delighted to hear that Ciaran! And in fairness most people feel the same , was just saying that some people seem a bit put out (scared) that Mayo are doing so well this year and just cant seem to give credit where it’s due! I really think this is the year they will do it and well deserved too!
Don’t take it personally – wait till you win it – then it’s 10 times worse. It’s just petty envy.
Don’t worry about Mayo our boys are training for a final id but be looking at Kerry
Mayo for sandwiches, dubs for Sam!
Dubs could get smoothered in Kerry Gold on Sunday Chris
Hang sambos, with Kerry Gold butter, mmmm. All that’s missing is the flask of tae, and a package of Tayho.
Fair play to them.
Sure why wouldn’t Mayo be the best at football, there is £uck all else to do there, except your cousin and sheep.
Fishing, mountain climbing, hill walking, surfing, canoeing, kayaking, beautiful scenery, amazing beaches, good pubs (cheap pints), great restaurants, sense of community, cheaper cost of living. Sure who would want any of that ;)
All that from a bottle of Hellmans. Cool.
And why does 1/2 of Dublin have a holiday home in Mayo then sid?
As a dub (and proud of it ) ive just come back from mayo and to say they are an amazing bunch is an understatement .i found them very friendly and genuine .. So if the dubs don’t win Sam id like to see mayo .. It will be a cracker of a day on Sunday :)
Ah people are always nice to pretty faces :)
You describe it as humorous Paul. I describe it as original, different and cool. I describe your hairstyle as humorous :)
Did he choke when he was on the crest of a wave?
Wow that’s original :)
We’ll beat kerry by 10-15 points, then beat mayo by 6-8, i get slattec everytime i predict this, but watch the dubs slaughter kerry on sunday. #COYBIB
Nice song
Niall I wouldn’t even respond to that pathetic comment
*slatted
*slated
Jesus ye don’t half build yourselves up in mayo, sharon murray you are simply a hype machine, you and your ilk should be playing things down, not ramping it up. Ye have’nt won it in sixty odd years, hold off on yer “they deserve to win it” untill ye actually win it. Setting youselves up for a massive fall the way some of you carry on.
