TIPPERARY CRUISED PAST Louth by 23 points to reach the next stage of the All-Ireland football qualifiers in today’s Round 2B clash at Semple Stadium.
Peter Creedon saw his side produce a formidable and impressive display as they bounced back from their Munster semi-final loss to Kerry.
It was the second strong showing Tipperary had produced in Thurles in the football championship this summer and on this occasion they went better than their 22-point win over Waterford in their Munster opener.
12 players chipped in on the scoresheet for Tipperary with a wide array of powerful performances ensuring they will contest Monday morning’s draw for next weekend’s Round 3B games.

Kevin O’Halloran, a member of the Tipperary team that reached the All-Ireland U21 final, crowned his senior championship debut with a 0-7 haul while Michael Quinlivan sparkled along side him.
Ger Mulhair got Tipperary off to a perfect start when he cut through for a 3rd minute goal, Conor Sweeney expertly despatched a penalty for their second goal in the 24th minute and then they got a stroke of luck after half-time when Colin O’Riordan’s long-range shot for a point deceived Louth’s Craig Lynch and the ball dropped to the net.

Tipperary went in front 1-1 to 0-0 after 3 minutes but Louth then reeled off four points without reply as Ryan Burns and Declan Byrne showed up well.
However Louth’s challenge collapsed after that, they only scored three points after the 9th minute of the match and only registered a solitary point in the second-half.
Tipperary’s defence was outstanding with Ciaran McDonald, Alan Campbell and Robbie Kiely impressing while Colin O’Riordan and Peter Acheson ensured they controlled the midfield exchanges.
