Tipp and Kilkenny All-Ireland winners will be teammates for novel challenge next Sunday

It’s all part of the Thurles CBS bicentennial celebrations.

TIPPERARY AND KILKENNY All-Ireland winners will be teammates for a novel senior hurling challenge match next Sunday.

Michael Cahill and Padraic Maher, who started in Tipperary’s 2010 All-Ireland final triumph, will be part of a squad that also contains Kilkenny duo PJ Ryan and Aidan Fogarty, who also played in that 2010 decider and in the 2009 final where the Cats defeated the Premier.

The quartet are part of the Thurles CBS Allstars selection that will take on Tipperary next Sunday afternoon at The Ragg GAA grounds at 2pm.

The game is a fundraiser as part of the bicentennial celebrations for Thurles CBS with former students of the hurling nursery set to line out against Michael Ryan’s Tipperary team.

In total there are nine members of Ryan’s current Tipperary squad – Cathal Barrett, James Barry, Michael Cahill, Padraic Maher, Ronan Maher, John Meagher, Seamus Kennedy, Kieran Morris and Sean Ryan – that are part of the Thurles CBS panel.
