5 All-Ireland winners return for Tipperary as Ollie Walsh starts for Kilkenny
Tipperary take on Offaly on Sunday while Kilkenny will meet Wexford.
TIPPERARY HAVE BOLSTERED their side for Sunday’s Allianz hurling league quarter-final against Offaly with five All-Ireland senior winners returning to the side.
Seamus Kennedy and Ronan Maher come in to the half-back line, Michael Breen will start at midfield, while Noel McGrath and John O’Dwyer are introduced to the attack.
That brings to 12 the number of players that Tipperary can call on from the side that started in last September’s Liam MacCarthy Cup success with Cathal Barrett, Brendan Maher and Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher the trio that are absent.
Willie Ryan, Tomás Hamill, Seán Curran, Kieran Bergin and Tommy Heffernan make way from the team that lost to Cork last Sunday.
For the second week in a row Brian Cody and his selectors have made just one change on the Kilkenny team to face Wexford in their quarter-final on Sunday.
Conor O’Shea picked up a hamstring injury in the Dublin game and is replaced by Ollie Walsh who will line out at midfield. Paddy Deegan moves back to the half back line allowing Shane Prendergast take up O’Shea’s corner back position.
