Tiger Woods to join McIlroy, Stenson and Willett in Dubai for European Tour comeback

Tiger’s schedule for the 2017 season is beginning to take shape.

TIGER WOODS’ MUCH-ANTICIPATED comeback is beginning to gather momentum after the 14-time Major winner announced his schedule for the early stages of the 2017 season.

The 41-year-old, who recently returned to competitive golf after a 15-month lay-off, will begin his year by playing the Farmers Insurance Open before heading to Dubai for a first European Tour event in two years.

Woods has added his name to an already stellar field for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, a tournament he has won twice.

Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson and Danny Willett are among the other notable players set to feature at the Emirates Golf Club between 2 and 5 February.

Woods makes his 2017 debut a week earlier at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. He has fond memories of the event and golf course having won it seven times previously and also claimed his last Major – the 2008 US Open – there.

Appearances at the Genesis Open and The Honda Classic later in February are to follow as Woods looks to make up for lost time having played just one event since August 2015.

He has not won on the PGA Tour since enjoying five victories during the 2013 season.
