IT’S DEFINITELY TOO soon to be getting excited but Tiger Woods is not only back playing competitive golf — he’s looking good.
(Or at least as good as you can look in your first nine holes back after a 15-month injury layoff.)
Tiger blew off the cobwebs and birdied four of his first eight holes to take a share of the lead on day one of the Hero World Challenge at the Bahamas.

With the golf world watching on excitedly, Woods reeled off three straight birdies at six, seven and eight before his first bogey, at the par-five ninth, saw him fall off the early pace set by JB Holmes.
Of course it’s very, very early days but people are getting just a little bit excited to see the 14-time Major champion back doing his thing, and doing it well:
