Reports - Tyrone's Tiernan McCann hit with proposed eight-week ban after diving controversy

Several reports this morning about the proposed ban.

THERE ARE WIDESPREAD reports this morning that Tyrone’s Tiernan McCann has been handed a proposed eight-week ban in the wake of the controversial diving incident in last Saturday’s All-Ireland quarter-final in Croke Park.

McCann threw himself to the ground in the second-half of the match after Monaghan’s Darren Hughes ruffled his hair.

Hughes was subsequently shown a red card by referee Marty Duffy.

Several national newspapers and RTÉ Morning Ireland have reported the development this morning which was first revealed on TeamTalkMag, a website the covers Tyrone GAA, last night.

It is understood that the CCCC of the GAA have been investigating whether McCann could be charged with ‘misconduct discrediting the association’.

It looks likely that Tyrone GAA chiefs will appeal any suspension ahead of their All-Ireland semi-final with Kerry on 23 August.
