Thierry Henry's reaction to Brendan Rodgers' sacking shows how great live TV is

The big news was all too much for Henry.

“BRENDAN RODGERS HAS left Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers is no longer the Liverpool manager.”

Despite the endless live football coverage, it’s rare enough for news of a big managerial casualty to be broken in the Super Sunday studio.

As if today wasn’t felled to the brim with live sport, we also had the added drama of Liverpool parting company with Brendan Rodgers after three years in charge.

The news broke as Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry dissected the day’s football with Ed Chamberlin at the Emirates Stadium, and the the news certainly took the Frenchman by surprise.

His first reaction was to immediate slap a hand down onto Carragher’s thigh and looking over to his fellow pundit, before an absolutely fantastic facial expression.

Carragher, on the other hand, went for the pokerface.
