CHELSEA WERE HELD to a 2-2 draw by Swansea after Thibaut Courtois was sent of in the late kick-off at Stamford Bridge.

First half goals from Oscar and Federico Fernandez (og) had put the champions in control but Andre Ayew, making his Premier League debut, pulled one back after a half hour.

15 minutes into the second half, Bafetimbi Gomis was played through by a pass from Jonjo Shelvey and Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois caught the Frenchman late just inside the box.

Referee Michael Oliver handed the Belgian stopper a straight red card before pointing to the spot.

Asmir Begovic, who arrived in the summer to replace Arsenal-bound Petr Cech, was called into action but couldn’t keep out Gomis’ spot-kick.
