Thepchaiya Un-Nooh was faced with a straightforward black for a maximum 147 break against Neil Robertson at the UK Snooker Championship.
He’s probably potted thousands of similar shots during his career – but none as significant as this one.

The world number 36 – 4-1 down to 2013 champion Robertson in the last 32 at the time – had the attention of York’s Barbican as he closed in on a maximum break.
However, after stretching to down the pink, Un-Nooh appeared to lose his nerve as he agonisingly overcut the black onto the right-hand jaw of the pocket, halting his break at 140.
The 30-year-old from Thailand would have walked away with £44,000 if he could have finished the job after some dazzling pots along the way.
He couldn’t believe what he’d just done, returning to his corner to put his hands in his head.
And to rub salt into his wound, Robertson proceeded to score a 145 in the next frame on his way to a 6-2 win.
