STEPHEN O’SULLIVAN BECAME the latest Kerry man to break Mayo hearts in Croke Park on All Ireland final day as the Templenoe number 15 grabbed a hat-trick in his sides comprehensive win over Ardnaree in the AIB All-Ireland junior club football final.
O’Sullivan’s second and third goals in the second half killed off the challenge of the north Mayo men and set up his sides historic victory.
The Kerry side raced out of the blocks early on with Killian Spillane the leading light in the early exchanges tormenting the Ardnaree defence at will.
Templenoe lead by 0-6 to 0-2 after 11 minutes and seven minutes later they plundered their first goal through O’Sullivan which put them 1-8 to 0-4 up.
Ardnaree did fight back and goal from sub Ronan O’Malley and few points from captain Eoin McCormack closed the gap back to two a few minutes before the break.

However just before the turn around wing forward Brian Crowley got in for a goal and his side went in leading by 2-9 to 1-7.

Ardnaree needed a good start to get back into the game in the second half, but it was the Kerry me who got that with Crowley kicking a point from throw in and O’Sullivan grabbing his second goal a short time later to set the Kerry and Munster champions on their way to victory.
