TRINITY COLLEGE DUBLIN shocked favourites UCD to keep their Collingwood Cup fairytale alive.
Darren O’Donoghue’s goal proved the difference as Trinity — who started the week as 33/1 outsiders — stunned their Dublin rivals 1-0 and booked their place in the final.
A win tomorrow would only be Trinity’s third in the competition and their first since 1979, ending a 36-year wait.
They will face UCC who edged a dramatic finish to the day’s other semi-final. Jason Abbott scored the only goal four minutes from time as the Corkmen left it late before stunning hosts NUI Galway.
