GALWAY LIFTED THE All-Ireland hurling title after a thrilling 0-26 to 2-17 win over Waterford in Croke Park today.
The Tribesmen ended a 29-year famine on a dramatic afternoon as Joe Canning finally ended his All-Ireland hoodoo and David Burke lifted the famous trophy.
Burke, colossal centre-back Gearoid McInerney and Waterford’s midfield trojan Jamie Barron were all nominated for the man-of-the-match award on The Sunday Game tonight.
Burke was given the nod by the panel of Eddie Brennan, Anthony Daly, Michael Duignan, Brendan Cummins, Tomas Mulcahy, Jackie Tyrrell and Cyril Farrell.
Did he deserve it? Let us know in the comments section below…

He plays up to the big sport jock stereotypes but probably one of the smartest to play the game. Hasn’t spent a cent of his salary over the years, living solely off promotional work.
Gets out of the league with 3 Superbowls, hall of fame status (I assume), millions of dollars, and most importantly a still functioning brain.
