End of the line for Jose Mourinho? Holders Chelsea dumped out of Capital One Cup

The Blues’ season goes from bad to worse.

CHELSEA WERE KNOCKED out of the League Cup after losing 5-4 on penalties to Stoke City, heaping more pressure on manager Jose Mourinho.

Eden Hazard missed the decisive spot-kick at the Britannia Stadium as Chelsea’s defence of competition ended in limp fashion.

Jon Walters gave Stoke the lead with an excellent strike in the 52nd minute, before Loic Remy sent the tie to extra time with a dramatic last-gasp equaliser.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men just seconds in second-half injury time when Phil Bardsley was shown a second yellow card, but Chelsea were unable to make the breakthrough in the additional 30 minutes.

And Mourinho’s men were made to pay in the shoot-out, with Hazard’s effort saved by Jack Butland.

We could watch Jon Walters’ thunderbolt against Chelsea over and over again
