Ireland's Stephen Quinn has signed for another Championship club

Quinn has transferred from Hull to Reading.

IRISH INTERNATIONAL STEPHEN Quinn has completed his transfer to Reading FC.

The move sees Quinn sign for another Championship club after his contract with Hull City, relegated from the Premier League last season, expired.

Quinn joins Reading on a free transfer after signing a three-year contract with the option of a fourth year.

“Stephen is an unassuming player but has always caught my eye and, when I knew he was available, I targeted him quite early in the summer,” Reading manager Steve Clarke told the club’s official website.

“His performances are always of a good standard and he is a talented, industrious, aggressive midfielder who can be influential in games.

“Obviously he has just experienced relegation at Hull City and is desperate to get back to the Premier League as quickly as possible, which can only be good for us.

“He has previous experience of playing in the Championship and was an important member of the Hull City team that gained promotion to the EPL in 2012/13 season.”

He played 220 time for the Blades before joining Hull City in 2012. In 2013 he helped Steve Bruce’s side reach the FA Cup final and scored in their semi-final victory.

Quinn has been capped 13 times by his country after winning his first cap in June 2013 against Georgia.
