El Shaarawy's sweet strike put Roma in front against Chelsea after just 38 seconds

It’s Roma’s fastest-ever Champions League goal.

THREE DAYS AFTER scoring an outrageous volley in Roma’s victory over Bologna, Stephan El Shaarawy was at it again tonight in the Champions League.

Just 38 seconds into the Group C clash against Chelsea, El Shaarawy was quickest to the loose ball and fired home from the edge of the area with a sweet strike to hand Roma the best possible start.

The 25-year-old’s first goal of the group stages is Roma’s fastest-ever in the Champions League.

It set the Serie A club on the way to a big win over the Premier League champions, with El Shaarawy adding a second just before half-time and Diego Perotti sealing the points after the hour mark.
