Waterford and Cobh Ramblers seal victories to maintain places at the top of the table

WATERFORD MAINTAINED THEIR six point advantage over Cobh Ramblers at the top of the SSE Airtricity League First Division tonight.

Paul Keegan’s 57th minute winner helped Waterford to a 1-0 victory over Longford Town in a tight affair at City Calling Stadium.

Cobh Ramblers enjoyed a 1-0 win against third placed UCD to keep their promotion hopes in full swing.

UCD had numerous chances to go ahead in the first-half, but Ramblers turned things around after the break. Darren Murphy hit the net 19 minutes from time with a drillled finish, and they held out for a vital three points.
