Late penalty controversy as Spurs force FA Cup replay against Leicester

Harry Kane held his nerve to force a replay against Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes.

pen Nathan Dyer's handball allowed Spurs to snatch a draw.

A CONTROVERSIAL LATE penalty call allowed Tottenham Hotspur to snatch a 2-2 draw against Leicester and force a replay in the FA Cup third round.

Harry Kane thumped home the 89th-minute equaliser after referee Bobby Madley ruled that Nathan Dyer deliberately handled the ball in this incident:

It was Spurs who struck first after just eight minutes of an entertaining all-Premier League clash, Christian Erisken following up to smash home the rebound after Kasper Schmeichel saved from Josh Onomah.

Leciester were back on terms in the 19th minute when Marcin Wasilewski headed in a corner, and the visitors took the lead three minutes into the second half when Shinji Okazaki reacted first to a goalmouth scramble.

It looked as though Claudio Ranieri’s side would hold out to book their place in the fourth round but Dyer was penalised as he challenged Danny Rose, and substitute Kane converted from the spot.
