TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR HAVE been granted permission to host 27 home games at a full-capacity Wembley Stadium next year, while development on their new grounds takes place.
Spurs played all their European games at the stadium this year, but are looking for a temporary home while their new stadium adjacent to White Hart Lane is being built.
Permission was granted by Brent Council, who passed the motion by five votes to one, during a meeting that lasted over three and a half hours.

The application was drawn out due to residents’ from the area venting their frustrations.
Under Wembley’s regulations, permission has to be granted by Brent Council for games where the top tier is open. Spurs were keen to have access to the full 90,000 capacity of Wembley, to avoid playing in a half-empty stadium.
It was the issue of using the stadium at full-capacity that frustrated the residents, given the large crowds and extra strain on local transport that would result.
Spurs have until 31 March to decide whether they will use Wembley next season, as they assess whether their new grounds will be ready in time for the 2018/19 season.
If that’s not the case, they have the option of staying in White Hart Lane next year and using Wembley the following year. The42 is on Instagram! Tap the button below on your phone to follow us!
