Spain show no mercy as they hammer eight past Liechtenstein

The Spaniards continued their perfect start under new boss Julen Lopetegui.

SPAIN OPENED THEIR World Cup qualifying campaign with an 8-0 victory over Liechtenstein on Monday.

Diego Costa opened the scoring for La Roja in a quiet first half, before Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, David Silva and Vitolo struck in the space of four minutes to put the game to bed.

Chelsea striker Costa then scored his second of the game prior to a quickfire double from Alvaro Morata.

David Silva concluded the scoring in the late stages of the tie.
