Not only was he well-placed to watch New Zealand record a 34 – 17 World Cup final win over Australia, he leaves Twickenham with a gold medal!

The medal belonged to Sonny Bill Williams, who came on as a half-time replacement for Conrad Smith and played a central role in setting up Ma’a Nonu’s brilliant second half try.
