SIMON ZEBO GOT off to the perfect start in the Top 14 as Racing 92 secured a 25-9 opening weekend victory over Toulon, with Scotland fly-half Finn Russell scoring two tries.
Last seasonโs European Champions Cup runners-up trailed 6-3 at half-time, but hit back as Russell scored 12 points in a crazy three-minute spell just after the interval.
Trailing by six points and with Racing having a man in the sin-bin, Toulon tried to force the issue in the final 20 minutes, only for Rhys Webb to literally throw away their chances of salvaging something from the game.
The Wales scrum-halfโs loose pass was easily intercepted by Juan Imhoff, and the Argentinian speedster raced clear to touch down, before Russell added another conversion and penalty to finish his day with 20 points.
Zebo played 80 minutes at full-back during the win on Saturday night, with Donnacha Ryan also starting for the French club.

Shows just how hard it is to go a season unbeaten in one of the top leagues and shows how special that arsenal invincibles team was under wenger
@Running Down The Wing: he would have been ran out of liverpool long before now. Look at how you lot ran rodgers out and him the only man to get you anywhere near a premier league title
@Running Down The Wing: you have serious mental health issues mate. Anyone that doesnโt agree with you or puts you in your box is either a united fan or doesnโt have a job. The job thing is a new one you have started using so I am going to guess you have joined the world of employment quite recently.
Let me know which account you are using tomorrow lad. Although I am sure I will be fit to tell
@Mel Roberts: I think youโll find that was a one luis suarez, Rodgers was merely brought along for the spin.
@james lee: suppose it was just thierry henry won arsenal the title then and wenger was along for the ride.
@Mel Roberts: now Mel ,you should know more than most the quality that ran through thise arsenal team during that period ,they conceded 152 goals in 122 league games under rodgers.your argument is moot.
@Mel Roberts: Plus bags of luck arsenal had 8 draws that season
@Mel Roberts: wow agreed ..he had Suarez tho ..big completely agree as a neutral
@Patrick Dara Kelly: wenger class manager..he frign made players anybody know George wrath
@Patrick Dara Kelly: โWeahโ if it wasnโt for wenger he wouldnโt be where he is
@Running Down The Wing: just up for work here in sunny liverpool. You up yet lad?
@james lee: Where would Ferguson have been without Cantona? Ancelotti without Kaka and Maldini, Zidane without Ronaldo, OโNeill without Larsson?
Where would Klopp be without Salah? Not in a European cup final. Thatโs for sure.
Liverpool fans are just pissed off that Rodgers got them closer to a title than Klopp ever will.
@Michael Flannery: are you serously trying to suggest a team went 49 games unbeaten because they had all the luck? You can be lucky in one or two instances, not in 49! The football that team played as well was a joy to watch
@Ciaran Rice: they never give rodgers the credit he deserves. Then they talk about arsenal fans and the way wenger was treated. We gave wenger 9 years without a trophy and even still some fans like myself didnt want him to leave. How long did they give rodgers
Wouldnโt ya be sick
Theyโre screwed when Messi retires.
Not even having him on the bench was a major mistake from Valverde. Heโs getting rightly hammered for it.
Coutinho goin to be interesting next year, hes starting to get into form
@Ruairi Doyle: He is ugly
Sheared was at his best for us. Still great but we had him slim and quick
I am god
