Zebo will be hoping the injury is not too serious. Billy Stickland/INPHO

Early headache for Munster as Simon Zebo forced off after 18 minutes in Pro12 opener

Munster are facing the Scarlets in Wales.

MUNSTER’S NEW DIRECTOR of Rugby Rassie Erasmus only had to wait until the midway point of the first-half of his opening game in charge to suffer his first injury setback of the new season, as full-back Simon Zebo hobbled off in Wales.

The Irish province are taking on the Scarlets in their first game of the new Pro12 season, and the news will also be a concern for Irish coach Joe Schmidt with the Autumn internationals just a couple of months away.

Zebo, who appeared to suffer the knock as he attempted a try-saving tackle, will be hoping the injury doesn’t keep him on the sidelines for too long, after the Cork man suffered a couple of injury-plagued seasons.

The 26-year-old was replaced by Ian Keatley.

Good news but el premiership and la liga wont pay out the bug bucks unless exceptional at 30. Shame Ajax couldn’t have held onto other players. Best side in it this year considering who they beat but a flukey spurs put paid to their chances.

@MoffWarburton: Liverpool would have torn them apart in the CL, if City had made it past Spurs they’d quite possibly be CL champs but the world is full of ifs, buts and maybes

@MoffWarburton: best side in it hahaha. If their “world class centre half” De Ligt didn’t cower out of the tackle on Lucas Moura for the winner, they’d have been in the final
