Highly-rated 19-year-old Dubliner made his debut for QPR today

Olamide Shodipo could be a star in years to come.

IRELAND U19 INTERNATIONAL Olamide Shodipo made his debut for QPR in the Championship this afternoon.

Shodipo, who was born in Dublin but grew up in London, is also eligible to represent Nigeria in international football.

The promising 19-year-old enhanced his growing reputation with a fine performance on the wing for Rangers, as he used his pace to terrorise the Leeds defence, particularly in the first-half.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side finished with a comfortable 3-0 win in Garry Monk’s first game in charge of the visitors.

In the other Championship game this afternoon, Keiren Westwood celebrated signing his new contract by keeping a clean sheet in Sheffield Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over newly-relegated Aston Villa.

Kevin Toner was not included in Roberto Di Matteo’s matchday squad, as Villa’s first game in England’s second tier since 1988 ended in defeat.
