SHAUN MALONEY WAS Scotland’s hero as Ireland suffered their first defeat of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

Maloney struck for the game’s only goal in the 75th minute after a perfectly-executed set piece caught the Irish defence napping.

“We might have switched off a bit for the corner,” Seamus Coleman admitted afterwards.

“We’re all disappointed but it’s early in the group and we’ve got to move on. We’re certainly disappointed.”
