Shane Lowry is right in the mix for a big finish at the Wyndham Championship

Clara native will start Sunday’s round four shots behind leader Henrik Stenson.

SHANE LOWRY IS on course for his best finish of the season after a rock-solid third round left him right in the mix at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina.

Lowry – who has four top-20 finishes to his name this year, including a tie for sixth at the BMW Championship – is four shots behind leader Henrik Stenson.

An eagle on the par-five 15th helped the Clara native to a three-under par 67 on Saturday, moving him to -12 for the week.

And it could have been even better for Lowry, who saw a five-foot par putt slip by on the 18th.

He tees off at 6.20pm in a tie for ninth place alongside Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen.

Stenson leads the way on -16, but American trio Kevin Na, Ollie Schniederjans and Webb Simpson are just one shot back.
