First, Duffy was in the wrong place at the wrong time when a 14th minute Declan John shot came careering back off the post and onto his foot to give Cardiff the lead over Blackburn Rovers in the Welsh capital.
Just six minutes later, Duffy rose highest when defending an inswinging free-kick, but only succeeded in powering his header beyond Jason Steele again.
To rub a little more salt in the wound of a 2 – 1 defeat, Duffy picked up a second yellow card and was sent off in stoppage time.
