Shamrock Rovers tell Dundalk fans to stay out of home section for potential title decider

The Premier Division holders can clinch back-to-back league wins on Friday night.

DUNDALK CAN WIN a second consecutive SSE Airtricity League Premier Division title by earning three points against Shamrock Rovers this Friday night.

The Lilywhites hold a 13-point lead over second-placed Cork City with four matches remaining (although the Rebels have a game in-hand), meaning they will be crowned champions if Stephen Kenny’s men can get the better of his former club.

While Tallaght Stadium holds 6,000 people, Dundalk were allocated just 800 tickets, which have all been snapped by fans eager to take in a potentially historic night.

Furthermore, the Hoops have released a statement to warn off visiting supporters from attempting to buy tickets for the home section, as they will be removed if discovered by security.

“All away fans tickets have been sent to Dundalk FC for distribution to away fans,” the statement reads.

There is strict segregation of away fans at Tallaght Stadium with all 800 Dundalk tickets in the North end of the Main Stand.

Remaining tickets are on sale to home supporters only. There will be a strict ejection policy in operation on matchnight to remove any away fans who are not in their allocated area.”
