A SECOND HALF HEADER from Gavin Brennan saw Shamrock Rovers bounce back from their opening defeat to Dnipro with a 3-2 victory over 1860 Munich’s reserves in the Nagjee International Cup.
The referee awarded three penalties in the first half in what was a keenly fought Group B encounter, with Pat Fenlon’s side coming from behind to emerge victorious in the 29-degree Indian heat.
The Germans took the lead on 14 minutes from the penalty spot after David Webster fouled Simon Seferings, with captain Michael Kokocinski diverting beyond the reach of Barry Murphy.
Rovers drew level with a penalty of their own shortly after the half-hour mark, with Gary McCabe stepping up to convert, but they soon found themselves behind again as Kokocinski scored his second penalty of the game.

Striker Danny North fired past Kai Fritz to ensure both sides went in level at the break and Gavin Brennan scored the crucial winning goal, heading home five minutes into the second half.
