SETANTA SPORTS IS launching a new Irish Sports Book of the Year award.
With the support for Publishing Ireland, the subscription channel today announced an initial four-year commitment to the prize, which aims to recognise excellence in Irish sports writing.
William Hill sponsored a similar award up until 2011, while the Board Gais Energy Sports Books of the Year awards also features a sports category.
Our very own Adrian Russell (editor of The42) will be on the judging panel for the inaugural year along with Adrian Barry (Newstalk), Dave Courtney (Independent Group), Neil Fullerton (Irish Daily Mirror), Robbie Irwin (RTÉ), Tony Leen (Irish Examiner), Malachy Logan (Irish Times), and Jack White (Irish Daily Mail).
