SERGIO BUSQUETS BELIEVES that football is better than sex because the happiness derived from playing a match lasts longer.
The Barcelona midfielder explained in great detail, probably too much detail, why he prefers winning matches over sex in an appearance on Spanish television show El Hormiguero.
“In football, happiness lasts three of four days. Sex, on the other hand, can last just one minute!”

The 27-year-old has had an extremely successful career to-date and was a key figure for Luis Enrique last season as they completed the treble. But admits that with football, you have to accept that there will inevitably be low points.
“After a bad game you just go home, shut the door and you don’t want to go out for three or four days,” he explains. “Fans don’t insult you after a bad day, but many of them remind you it was not your best one.”
Busquets was also asked about his friend David De Gea’s failed move to Real Madrid. He said he was surprised the transfer broke down at the last minute but backed De Gea to put his disappointment behind him.
“It seemed a done deal – often players are the ones who suffer as they don’t know their future.
“I have little to say on the issue. He was ready to change Manchester United for Madrid but…David will be happy anyway.”
