SEAN ST LEDGER WAS back playing MLS football over the weekend after making his Colorado Rapids debut.

The ex-Ireland defender, who joined the club earlier this month after being released by Orlando City, lined out alongside international team-mate Kevin Doyle for the trip to California to face San Jose Earthquakes.

St Ledger made a timely interception to snuff out an attack on 42 minutes, but was beaten to a header by goalscorer Clarance Goodson for the only goal of the game.

Former Wigan Athletic defender Maynor Figueroa also made his bow for the Rapids, who are bottom of the Western Conference.
