UCC’S FRESHER HURLING team will be coached by Cork legends Seán Óg Ó hAilpín and Tom Kenny this season as they go in search of their first championship since 2013.
The All-Ireland winners will take charge of the team alongside Stephen Moylan, Shane Bourke and Martin Walsh.
Ó hAilpín and Kenny, who have won five Liam MacCarthy Cups between them, will hope to emulate the feat of Dublin boss Ger Cunningham who was the last manager to guide UCC to Freshers success.
“We are delighted that such an experienced group of sportsmen will be involved with the training and development of a new breed of college hurler this year,” Dr Paddy Crowley, UCC Hurling Club President, said.
“Over the years UCC GAA Club has promoted, in both codes, countless numbers of young players and has overseen their sporting progression and development.
“Seán Óg and the rest of the lads bring a wealth of experience which can only be good for those they will coach.”

So we have 3 Pro14 games first, then the 2 Champions Cup game in January. Even if Sexton and Kelleher come good Farrel will more than likely have them for the Six Nations. And 10 or more others. Nice to have the Q final boxed off in the cup already and an 8point buffer in the league. Not too shabby so far. COYBIB.
@David: shame on me, turned out to be 17 others for the initial Farrel picks.
Real blow for Ronan with his rich form this short to 6 nations. But hopefully gets back up to these levels of consistency quickly. Hopefully a bit of game time for Ciara’s and Harry with Ross over the Christmas period will help them on.
I wouldn’t be surprised if his specialist was based on Lyon.
@Ken: already confirmed that he’s turned down the offer
