A seagull wandered onto a Moto GP track today and it didn't end well

Splat!

HE NEVER STOOD a chance.

Valentino Rossi’s lead may have been cut down to 11 points after he missed out on a podium at the Australian GP at Phillip Island, but it was a run-in between one rider and a seagull that grabbed the attention this morning.

The six-time champion is looking for his first title in six years, but lost precious ground today after Marc Marquez won a thrilling race down under.

Rossi finished fourth, with his countryman Andrea Iannone just ahead of him.

But it was Iannone who had the most dramatic afternoon, finding himself coming head to head with a stray seagull on the coastal track.

Considering the speed the bikes travel at, Iannone had no real option but to put the head down, and it didn’t end well for the bird.
