RONALD KOEMAN MARKED his 100th game as a Premier League manager in style as Romelu Lukaku inspired Everton to a thrilling 6-3 victory over Bournemouth.
Eddie Howe’s side inflicted Koeman’s first league defeat as Everton boss back in September, and the dramatic 3-3 draw at the Vitality Stadium last term was typical of the Toffees’ defensive woes under Roberto Martinez.
Yet Bournemouth’s resilience was finally ended late on, Lukaku sealing his second hat-trick of the season before adding a fourth – and Everton’s fifth – moments later.
Ireland internationals James McCarthy and Harry Arter also got their names on the scoresheet during the tie, which boosts their chances of playing themselves into the Ireland team that will face Wales in a World Cup qualifier later this year.
Elsewhere, Tony Pulis preserved his fine record against former club Stoke City as West Brom edged to a 1-0 Premier League win at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
The Baggies manager is unbeaten against Stoke since leaving the club for a second time in May 2013 and secured a tight victory through James Morrison’s early strike.
Morrison netted his second goal of the week in the sixth minute, having struck at the same stage of a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
While West Brom’s momentum had been interrupted by a swift equaliser on that occasion, Stoke could make nothing of their first-half possession as the hosts instead created a number of chances.
Erik Pieters missed a golden opportunity in the second half to level the scores, screwing a header across the face of goal as he met a cross unopposed, and West Brom were able to see out the closing stages to claim maximum points.
Goals from Andy Carroll, Pedro Obiang and Mark Noble inspired West Ham to a comeback 3-1 win at Southampton as Slaven Bilic’s men climbed into ninth in the Premier League.
A debut goal for Manolo Gabbiadini had Southampton fans in raptures, but celebrations were short-lived as West Ham responded with a trio of goals to bounce back in style from the 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Wednesday.
Gabbiadini signed for the club on transfer deadline day during the week, but aside from his dream start, Southampton are struggling with their form.
The Saints have conceded 10 goals in their last three matches across all competitions and are now only seven points above the bottom three.

@Ave it: and drive. Where will it all end, wearing trousers will be the last straw!
@This time its personable!: But NEVER in the clubhouse bar!
@Ave it: Equality is essential. Unfortunately a lot of lady golfers refuse to accept that equality is a 2 way street because they refuse to complete their rounds in the same time frame that applies to men. Welcome, Royaller, to 5 hour plus rounds.
@Neil Neart: and scones shared four ways…..
@sean o’dhubhghaill: they don’t hit driver that far anyway so probably wouldn’t have done too much damage like!
Green keepers will be busier than usual so…..
The noise pollution in the north Dublin coastline will increase now. Like hens at dawn when you try to enjoy a round with the lads.

@Sean Treacy: they will rue that decision, what are they at?
Now it’s time to try and get men into the Irish Countrywomen’s Assoc & to the Stitch & B1tch Clubs.

@Richard Ahern: Good one, Dick!
A pat on the back for the lads. Fair play to them.
Am I reading this correctly, it’s 2021?????
@martina loughlin: you are. It is. Surprising a case hasn’t been taken.
Now they just need 2 current members to vouch for them and pay an entry fee of 10k.
@Fergus O’Connor: I’d say at least €10k.
@Fergus O’Connor: I love the line “ when membership opens” basically I would suspect they are currently full and have a waiting list 7 years long so the new women members could be waiting a fair while to join. Depends on who leaves or kicks the bucket.
They’ll drop the royal handle next…
Woman have the same rights as men
@john: not when men were conscripted to go to war back in the day.
Imagine being made go to war!
@john: try getting out on the time sheet when the women have it booked for the whole day on a Tuesday. Women much more equal than men in my golf club.
@Kevin: Does the booking system confuse you? Ah that’s awful Kevin.
@Gav Murphy: Conscription? In Ireland? You need to actually read some history books.
@John Fagan: thanks for the tip buddy .
Amazing to see this in 2021, ??
I blame NEPHET and the government.
The Hooray Henrys to be joined by the Hooray Henriettas at Dollymount.

This place should be closed down.
Anything to do with wanting to host International Events? Gender discrimination would not go down well with most organisers.
