DUBLIN HURLER RYAN O’Dwyer was hospitalised after he was punched during a night out in England.
O’Dwyer remained in hospital over the weekend following the incident, which is believed to have taken place in the Birmingham area last Friday.
The Irish Sun reported that the 29-year-old teacher was conscious and talking, and awaiting the results of a scan on facial injuries.
An official from O’Dwyer’s club, Kilmacud Crokes, told The42 that he was still being monitored on Sunday but is making progress.
“All we have done is to express our support for him,” he said. “We’re there to assist him.”
The Tipperary native has been a key part of the Dubs’ squad since his move to the capital, winning a Leinster title in 2013 under Anthony Daly.
