The worst kick you will ever, ever see on a rugby pitch

The epic fail to beat all other epic fails.

FOUR POINTS UP, the full-time siren has blown and you get the ball in acres of space.

All you have to do is kick it out over the touchline, and you’ve won.

Sometime though, disaster strikes.

In England’s rugby league Championship Shield, Batley were 26-22 ahead of Featherstone Rovers when Batley’s Shaun Ainscough picked up the ball as the hooter blew.

He took a wild swing at the ball before stopping to admire his work, but seconds later he hit panic stations, after realising that not only was his kick short of the touchline, but a Featherstone winger was charging it down.

He couldn’t get back on time. The winger snapped it up and crept in for a try to tie the game, before the conversion won it for Featherstone.
