RTÉ HAS REVEALED who will be on the studio panel and in the commentary box for each of its Euro 2016 games, with the broadcaster’s coverage beginning tomorrow evening.
It’s little surprise Montrose chiefs have decided to keep the ‘holy trinity’ of John ‘senior analyst’ Giles, Liam Brady and Eamon Dunphy together for each of Ireland’s three group games with Darragh Maloney fronting the coverage.
George Hamilton will describe the action from the commentary box and will be joined in the gantry by Ronnie Whelan for Monday’s opener against Sweden.
Whelan will be back for the final group fixture against Italy in Lille with Jim Beglin joining Hamilton for the clash with Belgium.
Maloney will split the presenting duties with Peter Collins while if you miss any of the action, Aidan Power and Jacqui Hurley will be along each evening with a highlights show.
While the state broadcaster had already confirmed its pundits for the tournament, the full line-up makes for interesting reading.
Ireland women’s international Stephanie Roche will make an appearance on the highlights show on Tuesday evening, alongside Clinton Morrison, while TV3 will also have Emma Byrne on its coverage.
TV3 bought 22 games off RTÉ as it continues to expand its live sports coverage after broadcasting last year’s Rugby World Cup.
Graeme Souness and Neil Lennon will be on the panel for the broadcaster’s first game, England v Russia on Saturday, with Trevor Welch and Keith Andrews on commentary.
Paul McShane, Uwe Rosler and Joey Barton are all also worth tuning in for and will provide an interesting dynamic in studio.
