Film set to be made about Roy Keane's childhood

The big question is… who’s going to star in the lead role?

THE IRISH FILM Board has tonight announced that a short film will be made about Roy Keane’s early life.

Directed by Dave Tynan and produced by Michael Donnelly, ‘Rockmount’ will focus on the legendary Ireland midfielder’s days growing up in Cork and playing football locally before his big move to Nottingham Forest in 1990.

“Roy Keane is a small but demonic eleven-year-old in 1980s Cork,” reads the announcement. “He needs to get on the starting eleven for his football club, and nothing is going to get in his way.”

It is part of the latest series in the Signatures short-film scheme, which is in its seventh round. Director Dave Tynan tweeted:
